The Teaching of Design Technology and Art at The Pilgrim School

Design Technology

Children will be involved in working in four main areas of technology, generally linked to their topic work.  Firstly, they will be involved in identifying a need for a design and technological activity; secondly, in developing a design to fulfil that need; thirdly, in planning and making their design and, fourthly, in evaluating the success of their design and adapting it in the light of practical experience.

Art

All children have the opportunity to participate creatively in artistic projects, both individually and in groups.  A variety of techniques and methods are used and studied.  The children will also be introduced to art of different cultures and in differing styles.
